My Parents

This is my father, Robert Stevenson. In this picture, he was 28 years old. This picture was taken just before he left to defend Canada at the Raid of Dieppe. He was born in Britain. At the age of 21, he met my mother. They then moved to Canada because my father got promoted to a Lieutenant position in British Columbia.

This is my mother, Janice Stevenson. This picture was taken before my parents got married. My mother was 18 years old at this time. My mother was born and raised as a British. When she was informed about my father's promotion, she was excited to come to Canada and start a new life.

My Uncle

This is my uncle, Chuck Stevenson. This picture was taken before he left to fight in the Battle of Hong Kong. He was 30 years old before he went to the battle. When he got back, he was 34 years old. He spent almost four years in prison camps as a Prisoner of War.

My Aunt

This is my aunt, Min Stevenson. She got married to my uncle before they moved to Canada. They came to Canada along with my parents to start a new life, and possibly, a family. However, things got worse after the Pearl Harbour attacks. My aunt had to go to Internment Camp. Luckily, since my uncle was a soldier, he got her an exemption deeming him liable to anything she did wrong.

Me and my Brother

stevensonkids.jpg

This is a picture of me and my brother. My name is Brandon and my brother's name is Tyler Stevenson. I am on the left wearing the striped collared shirt. In this picture I am 6 years old and my younger brother on the right is 4 years old. I believe this photo was taken in 1942, right before my father left to fight in the Raid of Dieppe. Before my parents moved here from Britain, my uncle was already living here earning money as a factory worker. We were happy children living in a middle class family.
